A message to Garcia

During class we went over a message to Garcia. This was a story 100 years ago that talked about president Mckinley sending a message to Garcia in Cuba. That wasn’t the end of the story. President Mckinley asked for someone who was trust worthy and didn’t complain. Rowen was the man for the job. President Mckinley gave the message to Rowen and without complaining, Rowen simply took the message and went to Cuba to give the massage to Garcia. While on the trip to Garcia, Rowen had to sail on a boat to Cuba and then go through the jungles to give the message to Garcia. The reason why this was important because this showed people why Rowen stood out. Back then, when people were told to do things they would complain saying why do I have to do it, can’t he or she do it, whats the point of doing it, ext. Rowen did the opposite on something that was hard to do. Rowen sent a personal message from the president to Garcia. When this news started to spread, the story became very viral and people started to be put on newspapers. About 40 million copies were made. When it was 1936 the copies hit 80 million.
